Lois M. Brandriet, PhD, APRN, CS, is the Founder and President of ElderCare Consult, Inc. and co-founder of A Fiduciary Alliance, LLC. She is an advanced practice registered nurse and gerontologist, holding certification, masters, and doctoral degrees in gerontological nursing. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.
Her nursing experiences include: providing and managing nursing care for older adults (since 1977); teaching medical-surgical and gerontological nursing (Weber State University, 1987-1988; Brigham Young University, 1989-1995); and serving as a private consultant, geriatric care manager (since 1995), and guardian (since 1997).
Dr. Brandriet's publications address topics such as: choosing care facilities; needs of poststroke elders; health promotion, decision-making, and decreasing learned helplessness in elders; eldercare issues in fiduciary affairs; and entrepreneurial roles in nursing. Presentations focus on caring for elders with dementia.
